DAY 1: TBILISI

Arrival in Tbilisi. Accommodation at the hotel. Tbilisi city tour. Methekhi church - This is where Vakhtang Gorgasali built his palace and the site’s first church when he made Tbilisi his capital in the 5th century. The existing church was built by King Demetre Tavdadebuli (the Self- Sacrificing) between 1278 and 1289 and has been reconstructed many times since. Narikhala Fortress – We will be traveling by cable cars from Rike Park to Narikala Fortress, which has existed since the mid-4th century. The fortress is built on a hill, therefore there is a splendid view of the old city. District sulfur baths and Legvtahevi – is in the center of the city. Through the area Passes the rivulet of Legvtahevi. Her beautiful canyon was hidden for decades, and only now has been reconstructed - returned to its historic appearance. Meydan - the central square of the old town, which was formerly a commercial center of the city and nowadays is currently surrounded by cafe bars. The Sharden area is full of narrow streets with cozy cafés, wine-tasting bars, and souvenir shops. Rezo Gabriadze Marionette Theater. Day 2: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Uplistikhe – Kutaisi

Departure to Mtskheta. Excursion in the old town Mtskheta - Mtskheta is one of the oldest cities of Georgia. It is located approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Tbilisi, at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. The two sights we are going to see: Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) and Jvari Monastery (6th century) in Mtskheta are amongst the most significant monuments of Georgian Christian architecture. Departure to Uplistikhe this is an abandoned rock-hewn town, which once played an important role in Georgian history. The place was founded in the Late Bronze Age, around 1000 BC, and continued to be inhabited until the 13th century AD. Between the 6th century BC and the 11th century AD, Uplistsikhe was one of the most important political and religious centers of pre-Christian Kartli – one of the predecessors of the Georgian state. Kutaisi city tour - Visiting the ancient capital of Georgia, which is more than three thousand years old. Visit central square and famous Colchis Fountain. Opera House – Kutaisi’s opera house has been renovated with lines of classical statues. Drama Theatre – which overlooks the picturesque central square. Visit Bagrati Cathedral - The construction of Bagrati Cathedral, named after Bagrat III - the first king of a united Georgia, started at the end of the 10th century and was completed in the early years of the 11th century. The Cathedral holds special importance in the history of Georgia as an architectural and cultural monument. Accommodation at the hotel. Overnight in Kutaisi.

Day 3: Kutaisi – Mestia

Breakfast. Visit Gelati monastery - Gelati is a medieval monastic complex near Kutaisi in the Imereti region of western Georgia. A masterpiece of the Georgian Golden Age, Gelati was founded in 1106 by King David IV of Georgia and is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Departure to Samegrelo. Visit Martvili canyons + boat ride - Martvili is one of the most popular canyons in Georgia. It is located in the Megrelia region, not far from the small town of Martvili on the Abashi river, which, flowing for millions of years, formed a gorge up to 40 meters deep and a length of 2,400 meters. Optional offer: Cooking masterclass of local dishes – (15Euro per person) - Just like the landscape of Georgia, its cuisine is diverse with each region having its own distinct culinary traditions. The Samegrelo region is characterized by its distinguished spicy and hot meals, so whenever you visit Samegrelo, you should try some of the local meals of Megrelian cuisine. Optional offer: lunch in Megrelian Oda (Local house type) – (10 Euro per person). Visit Enguri Dam on the way - The Enguri Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Enguri River in Georgia. Currently, it is the world's second-highest concrete arch dam with a height of 271.5 meters. Departure to Mestia - Mestia, is the main regional center of Zemo (Upper) Svaneti. It is the starting point for most trips to Svaneti, which makes a convenient base for exploring the area. Tourists interested in religious history will find plenty of examples of wall paintings, frescoes, and icons from the Middle Ages in the churches around Mestia. Within Mestia, the Church of Saint George contains well-preserved crosses and icons from the XII century. Museum of History and Ethnography in Mestia - Mestia’s excellent main museum is one of Georgia's best, with fascinating displays of church treasures, manuscripts, weaponry, jewelry, coins, and historical photos, all labeled in English. Walking tour in Mestia. Museum of Mikhail Khergiani - The ground floor of the museum houses personal items of the famous alpinist - Merited Master of Sport Michael Khergiani (1932-1969). Day 4: Mestia – Ushguli – Mestia

Breakfast. Departure to Ushguli. Excursion - Georgia’s highest peak, Ushguli is an unbelievably atmospheric place. With more than 40 ancient Svan towers, it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1996. Ushguli is located in the municipality of Mestia, at the bottom of the mountain Shkhara. The community is comprised of 4 villages and their height ranges from 2060 meters to 2200 meters above sea level. This makes Ushguli the highest settlement in Europe. The center of the community, Chazhashi, has been declared a museum and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Drive back to Mestia. Visit Hatsvali ski resort by cable car. - Hatsvali Ski Resort is located in Svaneti is about 8 Km away from Mestia. The highest altitude above sea level is 3248 meters and the minimum elevation is 1868 meters MSL. It’s quite easy to reach Hatsvali ski resort from Mestia. Mestia and Hatsvali are connected with each other by the automobile road and the six-chair ski lift. Overnight in Mestia.

Day 5: Mestia – Tbilisi

Departure to Tbilisi – (8 Hours on the way)Optional offer: Flight from Mestia to Tbilisi – duration 1 hour. (30 Euro per person). Accommodation at the hotel. Free evening. Overnight in Tbilisi. Transfer to the airport.
