Tour Plan
DAY 1: TBILISI
Day 2: Tbilisi – Mtskheta-Kutaisi
Departure towards to small town of Mtskheta. Monuments of Mtskheta are included in the UNESCO World Heritage. Visiting an ancient Monastery Jvari (VI century.) on the top of a hill. Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (1010-1029 gg.). Have lunch at the local restaurant and try several tasteful dishes. Return to Tbilisi. Visit The Clock Tower of the famous Rezo Gabriadze Puppet Theatre and Dry Bridge – the most famous flea market in Georgia located at the bridge, which is more than 160 years old. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 3: Ananuri-Kazbegi
Departure to castle Ananuri – Zhinvali Lake. Ananuri Fortress is located on the Georgian Military Highway, 70 km from Tbilisi. Visit Stephantsminda. Departure to Gergetis Sameba (XIV century)Trinity Church Gergeti located at an altitude of 2170 at the foot of Mount Kazbek along the Georg
ian Military Road in the Georgian village Gergeti, directly above the village Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). Master-class of making Khinkali– a Georgian dumpling, which originated in the Georgian mountain regions. Varieties of khinkali spread from there across different parts of the Caucasus. The original recipe consists of minced meat and spices. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 4: Gombori pass-Telavi-Tsinandali-Kvareli-Sighnagi
Departure to Kakheti – the wine region – through Gombori pass. Visit Telavi – the heart of the Kakheti region – located in the Alazani valley. Visit the agro market in Telavi with great walnuts, tasty Georgian Churchkhelas, and a wide variety of Georgian spices. Continue the tour to the Tsinandali museum with a decorative park. In 1835 there one of the first wine cellars was built in Georgia, where a unique collection of wine from many countries (16 500 bottles) is kept. Visit the unique winery Khareba in Kvareli.
Winery and cellar are located in a tunnel of 7700 meters long carved in the rock of the Caucasus Mountain Range. The tunnel consists of two main parallel tunnels and 13 smaller perpendicular ones. Degustation of wine and master class on baking Georgian bread and making Churchkhela – a traditional Georgian candle-shaped candy. The main ingredients are grape must, walnuts and flour. Overnight in Sighnaghi.
Day 5: Bodbe – Sighnaghi
City tour in Sighnaghi – a small town in the Alazani Valley. Master class of Georgian barbeque – Mtsvadi. (not included in the price, €15 per person). Return to Tbilisi. Transfer to the airport.
